How to read bonus terms: wagering requirements and voided bonuses

Wagering, max bet, game weighting and win caps: what to check before (and after) a bonus is voided.

Most complaints about voided bonuses and removed winnings come down to a term that was not read when the bonus was accepted. This guide shows how to read the key clauses and what to document if a cancellation happens. A bonus is not a way to win; its terms are the site's own rules.

Terms you need to know

  • Wagering requirement: how many times the bonus (or bonus plus deposit) must be bet before it can be withdrawn. Example: a 100 EUR bonus with 30x wagering means 3,000 EUR in total bets.
  • What wagering applies to: only the bonus, or bonus plus deposit? The second can double the betting required.
  • Maximum bet: the highest stake allowed per bet while the bonus is active. Exceeding it even once may be listed as grounds for cancellation.
  • Game weighting: not every game counts equally (e.g. slots 100%, table games 10%, some games 0%).
  • Time limit: the number of days to complete wagering. If it runs out, the bonus and resulting winnings may be removed.
  • Maximum win / withdrawal cap: the highest withdrawable amount a bonus can produce.
  • Excluded payment methods: deposits through some methods may not qualify for the bonus.

Checklist before you accept

Before taking the bonus

  • Take dated screenshots of the promotion page and the general bonus rules (terms can change later).
  • Write down the wagering multiplier and what it applies to.
  • Note the maximum bet and make sure your bet slip never exceeds it.
  • Check the weighting of the games you plan to play.
  • Note the time limit and the maximum win cap.
  • Find out whether you can decline or cancel the bonus, and what that does to your balance.

If your bonus or winnings were voided

  1. Ask for the reason in writing

Ask which rule and clause was breached, and which bet triggered it.

  2. Compare with the terms

Compare the reason with the terms in force on the day you took the bonus. Your screenshot is the key evidence here.

  3. Download your bet history

Save the history showing every bet, stake and game during the bonus period.

  4. Document your balance

Screenshot the balance before and after the cancellation; state the removed amount clearly.

  5. Create a complaint

If the answer is unsatisfactory, file a complaint on BetSicil: calmly explain how you applied the terms and why you believe the cancellation was wrong.

Example message: asking for the reason

Template: Written question about a voided bonus or winnings
Hello,

On [date] I took the [promotion name] bonus. On [date] the balance/winnings of [amount and currency] in my account were cancelled.

Please confirm in writing:
1. Which rule and clause is the cancellation based on?
2. Which bet or transaction do you consider a breach (date, game, stake)?
3. Can you share the terms that applied on the date I took the bonus?

Thank you,
[Your username]

What to watch in your complaint text

  • Title it by what happened, such as “Completed wagering, winnings voided”. Titles with definitive accusations or insults are corrected by moderation.
  • Upload screenshots of the bonus terms and your bet history to the evidence area.
  • If you did breach a term, say so clearly; an honest account makes the brand and readers take the case seriously.
